MapleStory Classic Thief: Claw or Dagger Before Level 30
Find Dark Lord, plan LUK and equipment requirements, and understand Lucky Seven versus Double Stab before choosing Assassin or Bandit.

Become a Thief at level 10 with Dark Lord in Kerning City. Your level-30 choice is Assassin or Bandit. Decide whether you want a claw or dagger route before distributing early skill points.
Claw and dagger decisions
The current community reference describes Lucky Seven for ranged claw play and Double Stab for a dagger route. It also discusses using a claw first and resetting skills later. Do not build around a future reset without checking its actual availability and cost in your client.
LUK, requirements and accuracy
LUK is your main stat. Secondary requirements depend on the specific weapon and armor, so inspect the next item before spending AP. Check your level and hit consistency as well. Adding secondary stats is a permanent decision that should solve an identified requirement, not a guess based on another server's build.
Budget before an upgrade
Claw users need throwing stars and a refill plan; dagger users should compare the weapon's listed requirements. Keep potion and travel money available. Test attacks at a safe distance before moving to a crowded map.
Use the class comparison for the other job paths and the stat guide for shared AP planning. This introduction does not publish a simulated DPS ranking or a complete optimal SP table.
