Start as a Beginner on Maple Island, then choose your first job at level 10. This site covers Nexon's Global Classic World. Modern MapleStory and the Artale world have different progression and item data.

Get the right client

In Nexon Launcher, find MapleStory and select the MapleStory Classic World toggle to download its standalone client. On Steam, start from your MapleStory library entry. Grand Launch opened on October 21, 2026 at 18:00 UTC; you do not need a closed-test beta key for the public opening. Windows and macOS are supported.

Decide before spending points

Use the four-class comparison before distributing AP. The current community reference reports that your pre-advancement AP carries into your first job. Adding STR only to make the island easier can therefore hurt a future Magician. Read the AP and SP guide before committing points.

These are unlocks, not a promise that every activity is best at its minimum level. Bring potions and check party or quest conditions separately.

Controls and language

The Modern Style binding preset supports WASD. Xbox and PlayStation controllers need Enable Controller Support turned on in Game Options. The release notes list English, Spanish Beta and Korean Beta; the UI and class names remain in English. Our Spanish guides retain those names so you can find them in the client.
